Oracle Reaches $115 Million Proposed Class Action Settlement
Settlement Administrator Angeion Group Announces
Oracle America, Inc. to Pay $115 Million to Settle Lawsuit Alleging Class Action Workforce Misclassification in California
Angeion Group, the court-appointed Settlement Administrator, announced a proposed $115 million class action settlement with Oracle America, Inc. The settlement resolves allegations that Oracle misclassified its California-based inside sales representatives as exempt from overtime pay.
The proposed settlement includes $85 million in monetary relief for current and former Oracle inside sales representatives who worked in California between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2022. The settlement also includes $30 million for attorneys' fees and costs.
Oracle has denied any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to avoid the risks and costs of continued litigation. The settlement is subject to the approval of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
A hearing to consider preliminary approval of the settlement is scheduled for May 10, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. PT. Class members will have an opportunity to object to the settlement at the hearing or by submitting a written objection to the Court.
If the settlement is approved, class members will receive a payment from the Net Settlement Fund after the deduction of attorneys' fees and costs and any applicable taxes.
For more information about the settlement, class members can visit the settlement website at www.oraclesalessettlement.com or call the Settlement Administrator at 1-833-252-9208.
