Carlo Acutis: The Boy Saint Who Loved Jesus and Computers

The Early Life of Carlo Acutis

Carlo Acutis was born on May 3, 1991, in London, England, to Andrea Acutis and Antonia Salzano, members of wealthy Italian families. Just a few months later, he moved with his parents to Milan, Italy, where he spent the rest of his childhood. From a young age, Carlo displayed a profound love for God and a passion for computers.

A Life of Faith and Service

Carlo's faith was evident in his daily life. He attended Mass every day and spent hours in prayer and adoration. He also volunteered at a soup kitchen and helped the homeless. Carlo had a particular devotion to the Eucharist, which he believed was the source of his strength.

Carlo's love for computers led him to create websites and multimedia presentations about his faith. He also used his programming skills to help the poor and needy. Carlo believed that the internet could be used for good, and he wanted to use it to spread the Gospel.

A Model of Holiness

Carlo died of leukemia on October 12, 2006, at the age of 15. He was beatified by Pope Francis in 2020 and is now considered a model of holiness for young people. Carlo's life shows us that it is possible to live a life of faith and purpose, even in the midst of suffering. He is an inspiration to all who seek to follow Christ.
